Our Walks in Lisbon are given daily at 10 am and 4 pm and are limited to 6 persons maximum.  Reserve your Walk by email or telephone us 48 hours in advance of the day and hour that you desire for reserving your Walk.  We will contact you with the meeting point in Lisbon for your the start of the walk.

Private Walks are available with a 48 hour advance notice.  These will be exclusive walks for you or your group and can be made at any time you wish.



Lisbon Historical Walks

Four Walks (4 hours each walk) based on the history and growth of Lisbon from the beginning of the ancient city to the present day that give you an idea of how Lisbon has changed throughout the centuries.  These are informative, educational and paced to allow you the time to truly experience this amazing city.

Lisbon "Ad Lib" Walks:
See Lisbon without having tourist book book or map!  We will show you the city through a unique perspective and take you to places that are not found in guidebooks and take you to the places that the people that live in Lisbon frequent .  You will not get lost and not need to wonder what you are seeing as everything will be explained during the walk.  These walks are a great orientated and intended for short term visits, stop overs on a cruise ship or between meetings if you are traveling on business.

Private Custom Designed Walks:
For visitors that want to visit Lisbon and see and experience places that are chosen based on their own special interests to give you the opportunity to get see Lisbon without being part of any pre-arranged tour.  These intimate and enjoyable walks are lead with no stress and no limitations on what  you can see or do and are limited to you and your friends exclusively.

Historical Walk Details

Historical Walk 1 - Lisbon before and after the Earthquake of 1755  TOUR DETAILS

Starting from the original site where Lisbon was started ( believed by historical evidence unearthed in archeological excavations ), visiting the St. George Castle, the medieval Alfama (which gets it name from the Moorish inhabitation) and ending in the Lower Town ( Baixa ) where the Earthquake of 1755 became the defining and definitive point when Lisbon started its growth into the city you see today.

Historical Walking 2 - Expansion of Lisbon in the 19th Century  TOUR DETAILS

Expansion out of the city walls built in the 13th century were instrumental in the growth of Lisbon.  Although slightly overlapping the previous tour, you will be able to see how these walls became out dated and visit areas of Lisbon that were built from this time and until the 18th centruies changes.

Historical Walk 3 - The Modern Period and the " Novo Estado" TOUR DETAILS

From approximately 1900 with the advent of the age of mass transportation Lisbon expanded even more, with new boulevards planned and which made the modern day city possible.  We will visit these areas that were expanded into and see notable sites and building projects that were important in this era; from Art Noveu, Art Deco and the more severe style of architecture of the Estado Novo.  Visits include the Rossio train station, Elevador of Justa, tram ride and more.

Historical Walk 4 -   Modern Lisbon  TOUR DETAILS

This walk is based on the city that has emerged from the centuries and where it has developed its own distinct style.  We will  delve into the daily life of the people to give you a sense of what it means to be living in Lisbon today.
