We offer two different options for your VIP Custom Itinerary Planning; both with and without Personal Guiding our guests during their stay in Portugal.
VIP Escorted Custom Tours
Some travelers prefer to leave the planning to the experts. That's why our Portugal escorted tours are so popular! Discover Portugal offers a variety of Portugal vacation packages designed for those who enjoy fun and informative tours led by an experienced guide who knows the country inside and out. Our Portugal tours allow guests to travel in style with little worry about what's next on the itinerary.
Our escorted Portugal travel packages cover literally ever corner or the country, including major cities such as Lisbon, Porto, Evora, Guimaraes and small countryside locations like those found in the Alentejo or Beiras Altas regions. Our Portugal escorted tours can take you to the magnificent Alentejo Atlantic coastal village of Porto Covo, the historic town of Estremoz, scenic Douro River and others - all the places you have never visited and probably do not even know about.
Our Portugal vacation packages come in all shapes and sizes, from our short 2-day escorted tours to fantastic two-week-long Portugal travel packages that provide the opportunity to explore all the highlights of this amazing country. With our Discover Portugal tours you will stay at the best hotels and small inns, dine in the most recognized restaurants and visit sites not on most tourism company itineraries. We do not work as a large tour company and have preferred hotels in Portugal that we negotiate with for the best rates available for you.
The maximum of guests is limited to 8 persons.
The fees below are based on a per day rate for the Guide for your visit as you are escorted to your destinations and do not include the charges for hotels, transportation, meals or entrance fees, unless this has been agreed in advance as stated above. Your final itinerary will be prepared with these charges included - always after your consultation and approval.
- 1/4 Persons 300.00 € Per Day (minimum 2 days)
- 5/8 Persons 350.00 € Per Day (minimum 2 days)
Please note that these rates are based on the number of persons traveling and are not per person prices.
VIP Custom Tours:
We offer the same levels of service in preparation of your itinerary as we do when we guide you. The only difference is that you will make your journey to the destinations that you have chosen on your own. This VIP Itinerary Planning has a one time fee that is determined after consultation with you; base charge 150,00 € for 4 persons ( please contact us for a quote). Your completed itinerary will be either mailed to you or presented upon arrival; please allow a minimum of two weeks for preparation.
Our VIP Customized Tours of Portugal allow you to make the decisions about how and where you'll spend your time in this vibrant country. Portugal custom tours present the creative traveler with plenty of options from which to choose, including which cities and towns to visit and even the mode of transportation for your tour. We even offer themed Portugal tours that provide our guests with the opportunity to do what they enjoy most, like cooking, biking, or touring Portugal's finest museums.
For example, we'll customize one of our Lisbon private tour with a dinner served in a private palace located in the heart of Lisbon. Or we'll take one of our exciting Douro River and Guimaraes visits tailor it with lunch in a restaurant overlooking the Douro River Valley, a private tour of a family owned Museum of Wine Making dedicated to their family's more than 400 years of wine makers and end your evening staying in the pousada of Nossa Senhora of Guimaraes located in the heart of the medieval city.

VIP Guided Tours as well as non-Guided Tours are prepared through close collaboration with you every step of the way and take into account any special requests you may have as we design your visit around any theme that you choose to make into reality.
- To maintain an intimate experience we limit any group traveling to a maximum of 6 persons. You may be traveling with friends or family and the visit will be exclusive to your group or it may include others with the same interests. However under no circumstances will there ever be more than the stated number included in any one tour as these are only designed for you and the persons that you are traveling with - no tour buses and large tour groups.
- For VIP Escorted Tours have one daily rate for the guide and does not include your charges for hotels, car hires, meals or entry fees in any monument. We will provide you with an itemized list of all the charges upon completion of your itinerary.
- VIP Escorted Tours and VIP Custom Tours are not pre-packaged tours and every one is unique in that is reflects the personalities of the persons that are on the tour.
- VIP Escorted Tours and VIP Custom Tours require at least 2 weeks to prepare. After reviewing this Services & Fee Schedule, please email us with an outline of what you would like to see and we will contact you to start the process moving forward.
VIP Escorted Tours require a deposit of 300.00 euros that is made at the time of agreeing upon using our services and the remainder paid 10 days before the start of your visit, including both the total daily guide fee as well as hotel charges and other charges associated with your visit ( car rentals, meals that may be included, special events that are planned and any other charges needed to reserve any services you have decided to include ). Miscellaneous charges during the trip will be paid during your stay.
VIP Custom Tours have a base fee of 175,00 euros which is due at the time of agreeing on using our services, and the payment for all other charges is to be made on completion of the itinerary. This will include full payment of hotel reservations and car rentals, necessary payments for tickets or pre-arranged meals or other charges that are included in the itinerary. We will then present you with a printed itinerary mailed to your home or presented upon arrival in Portugal with vouchers for your hotels and car rentals and any other incurred charges that are included in your itinerary.
